The street planning and kiosk design for this food-culture specialty street were conceived to transform the dense commercial district into a comfortable and attractive space through public space design, while also creating new points of connection between the existing commercial buildings and the newly formed street structures.
The path running through the specialty street does not direct attention solely inward, toward the newly created space. Just as walking through an old alleyway reveals new spaces and new views around each corner, this street guides visitors through its interior while also offering directional cues toward the existing surrounding shops—pursuing coexistence with the existing commercial fabric.
The kiosks welcome visitors with a calm, orderly design that avoids competing with the existing shops. While a kiosk is primarily a space for receiving goods or food, a phone-charging function powered by a rooftop solar energy system is installed on its exterior wall, allowing the kiosk itself to take on a public character.
The diverse spatial programs offered by the new street structures and kiosks are intended to provide visitors with interest, convenience, and comfort, and are expected to bring vitality to the commercial district as a whole. Within this, the design aspires to fully embody the proposition of „Together in Newness“—commercial yet public, new yet embracing the existing, and accommodating programs and spatial uses that all generations can share.
